Tasting Notes:

Tasting notes taken 22 October 2017, 48 days after kegging. Dispensed from kegerator into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: rich, dark muddy brown with a finger of frothy darkish-tan foam head. The head could use some more retention, but for the most part I'm quite satisfied. (4)

Smell: quite chocolatey at first but it quickly develops a fair amount of biscuit. It's either the brown malt or something being brought out by A09 Pub, but I'm not a huge fan of biscuit. The chocolate is really good, though. (3.75)

Taste: malty with plenty of biscuit and bread flavor. There's a little roastiness, which is nice, but for me it's kind of outweighed by the biscuit. That said, this is not a *bad* beer, just maybe not one especially tailored to my palate. (3.5)

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good level of carbonation and really a nice creaminess. (4)

Drinkability: it's definitely a quaffable beer, although the biscuit impedes that a little for me. (3.75)

Overall score 3.73 (B). A valiant effort, although next time I'll probably pare back the brown malt and maybe try a cleaner yeast strain. I could definitely see selling a lot of this, although not necessarily buying a lot of it.
