Tasting Notes:

Tasting notes taken 21 March 2013, 15 days after kegging. Dispensed from tap into a pint glass.

Appearance: medium golden hue with a moderate haziness and a moderate effervescence. Head pours three thick fingers of pillowy ivory foam; head retention is good. Like batch #60, this beer was pretty aggressively conditioned and I think that has contributed a lot to the overzealous head creation. Still, quite an attractive pale. (4)

Smell: sweet malt aroma with a delicate but well-balanced hop aroma of pear with a little berry character in there as well. Well-hopped, but not your typical citrus bomb. I really like how the Glacier and Belma work together here! (4)

Taste: smooth, sweet malt with more great hop character. Bitterness is right down the middle; quite decently balanced. The berry is a little more forward in the flavor than in the aroma; certainly, this beer will not be for everyone. But a lightly sweet, fruity and refreshing pale ale will always have a special place in my heart. (4)

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a decent level of carbonation. Not the creamiest thing in the world, but not bad for the style. (3.75)

Drinkability: this is another super-quaffable beer for me. It has a good flavor but is subtle and balanced enough to warrant many pints. Woohoo! (4.25)

Overall score 4.0 (B+). This beer worked out really well. I am really enjoying this combination of hops, and I can't wait to see how the IPA of these 3 hops turns out. I also want to experiment more with the 1469 West Yorkshire yeast; maybe try something in an oatmeal stout? Hmmm.
